Power REIT (ticker: PW) is a real-estate investment trust (REIT) that owns real estate related to properties for Controlled Environment Agriculture (greenhouses), Renewable Energy and Transportation. Power REIT is actively seeking to expand its real estate portfolio related to Controlled Environment Agriculture for the cultivation of food and cannabis.
Our Vision
Power REIT is a specialized real estate investment trust, building upon the legacy of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railroad (“P&WV”). P&WV was previously listed on AMEX and was the first listed infrastructure REIT, having received a revenue ruling from the IRS in the late 1960s qualifying its railroad property as a REIT qualifying real estate asset.
New Investment Focus - Announced July 2019
In July 2019, Power REIT announced an expanded focus for acquisitions. In addition to its existing high quality real estate related to transportation infrastructure and alternative energy, Power REIT is expanding its focus to include agricultural real estate with a focus on Controlled Environment Agriculture (“CEA”). CEA is an innovative method of growing plants that involves creating optimized growing environments for a given crop indoors. Power REIT intends to focus on CEA related real estate for growing food as well as cannabis.
